About the Temple

Who We Are

A Home for Every Soul
Seeking the Divine

Our temple stands as a unique spiritual landmark in the Southern Hemisphere, home to a remarkable collection of sacred icons that embody divine protection and grace. It is distinguished as the first of its kind to house the largest Shri Anantha Muthumariamman Murthi — a magnificent representation of the Divine Mother in Her compassionate and all-encompassing form.

Alongside Her, devotees are blessed to witness the presence of the largest reclining Angala Parameshwari Periyaayi Amman, symbolizing deep cosmic rest, protection, and maternal strength. The temple is further sanctified by Shri Atharvana Bhadrakali Pratyangira Devi, revered for Her fierce protective energy, and Shri Periyachi Amman, guardian of children and families.

Together, these sacred forms create a rare and powerful confluence of divine energies — making this temple not only a place of worship, but a centre of healing, protection, and spiritual upliftment for all who seek the blessings of the Divine Mother in Her many manifestations.

Our Journey

Our Sacred Journey

2010s

A Seed is Planted

Founded through the vision and devotion of Spiritual Head Gurukkal Vishendrin Vijaykumar, the temple was created to offer devotees a place of peace, strength, and spiritual refuge. Inspired by the needs of those seeking healing and inner calm, Gurukkal undertook deep prayer and a spiritual journey to India before establishing the temple in South Africa.

2010s

The Birth of Arulmighu Shri Anantha Muthumariamman Thirukovil

Born through divine will, guided by vision, prophecy, and unwavering devotion, the temple was destined to arise on land marked by a sacred hill and a self-manifested (Swayambhu) form of the Divine Mother. A miraculous discovery of a sacred anthill and serpent confirmed the living presence of Amma — establishing this as a powerful spiritual centre even before its physical structure was built.
